Jeremy Jordan Tempe Concert reviews
Simply Amazing
Jeremy Jordan took the stage shortly after 9 pm and played until nearly 11 pm. The crowd was going crazy, opening with Third Eye. Maynard in the back next to Danny, doing those odd moves that only Tool fans will think is cool, it is a good thing to see. The sound is amazing, and I can honestly say it is even more impressive than a studio album.
Adam has the best poker face in music, I never see him make an expression, but what he does is just pure art. Every riff could be felt, and although you don't see a reaction out of him, the guitar speaks for itself. Justin is the most energetic of the bunch; he was also motioning to the crowd a few times to get them wild. Thats where he channels his energy, just amazing. Danny, of course, was astonishing, the best drummer of all time if you ask me (though Rolling Stone had him at number 7 all time). This man is a god on drums, and no one compares. Maynard's voice was amazing, just like on the album but with that raw feel of being live.
The first band was Rajas I believe it was spelled. They were fairy decent and got a good response out of the crowd, this is not my cup of tea. Some quotes, "Alright Gino, balls on the table, let the drum faggotry begin". That was around the middle of Lateralus when Gino and Danny played drums together. When the concert started, "In here is in here, out there is out there, for the next 2 hours only thing that matters is in here". They ended off with AEnima, a great song to finish within Southern California I suppose.
Overall, this was the greatest show I have ever seen. TOOL is the greatest act there is, and being as they tour so infrequent, do not miss a chance.
